You are on an appropriate dose of prednisone. It is best to wean off slowly
in smaller increments over a period of months. This will be guided by how you are feeling with instructions from your doctor. Side effects are manageable if you keep monitoring your blood pressure and metabolic tests at their office.
It sounds like you are responding if you are anxious to lower your dose.
It is better to go down gradually to avoid having to bump up higher again.

Thanks

I am 66 years old male a year and a half ago. Woke up one morning shoulders neck, hands very painful to move in the morning goes away during the day and then in the evening it comes back. I have been on prednisone starting at 35 mg along with methotrexate, which I have stopped Kev Zara, which I am about to stop. My doctor doesn’t seem to have any answers every three or four months, we just throw a new medicine at it and the only thing so far that has an effect is the prednisone. I am down to about 3 mg a day And that relieves the pain about 80% and I have joined this group to see if there’s anything else that will help so that I can get off of the prednisone, thank you to everyone who reads this. And God bless the United America
