Paget's Disease of Bone
I was diagnosed after a bout of diverticulitis sent me to the local emergency room on Sun, March 31, 2024. I already have Parkinson's Disease, but it's been getting worse after more than five years of maintaining the symptoms, and in most cases even improving. Does anyone else have this disabling/progressive bone disease? What steps are you taking to relieve the symptoms: pain (in all of my joints) and body stiffness/rigidity--also a symptom of PD. I have too much to deal with right now, am feeling overwhelmed, and have gone into a major depressive state. My wife tells me that I appear to have given up on life.

I'm so sorry about your pain.
Please try CBD an medical marijuana for your symptoms. I have chronic pain from a litany of orthopedic problems, tremor, ptsd, it helps.
I have found that when I'm on it, I don't have as much pain and stress but I still function. (No driving of course!). But taking taking care of my house doesn't hurt as bad.
I still have to have a hip replacement, and SI joint fusion surgeries.
I rely on medical marijuana to keep me running when I'm home.
Give it a try. God bless
I definitely need to take another course of action. I know another person with PD who, after taking CBD, didn't experience as many falls.
Thank you for your feedback!
I found a great cannabis dispensary in the neighborhood and the budtender recommended a gummy--CBD/CBN indica-enhanced, which, after taking helped me get my first full nights sleep in many weeks. I awake, feeling refreshed, and relaxed with no drug side effects at all. It even helps relieve some of the joint stiffness and muscle rigidity I'd been feeling. I'll give it some more time, but if I can get more daily exercise into my life, I think I'd like to titrate off some of the med's my quack doctors have been prescribing me. My feelings now are that too much of what Big Pharma has the doctors pushing on us probably cause more harm than good when taken long-term.
Hello @horowitz71, sorry to hear about the myriad of painful diagnoses you area dealing with at once. I'd like to invite @omnipair314, @michelle10, @williamsjames2015, and @beattyre who have all discussed Paget's Disease or a loved one who has Paget's Disease on Mayo Clinic Connect.
