Beware of Metformin. See the publication link below of the meta analysis of over 210,000 individuals treated with Metformin. Treatment length increasing is associated with increasing peripheral neuropathy. At a point, the probability is 2 to 3x higher developing PN. The publication is worth reaing.

PN is terrible. I have a modest to moderate level in both my feet, depending on the day, due to pulmomary emboli, DVT, and SVT (s). PN has improved since last year when it reached peak (burning, very sensitive, painful for water or socks to touch, the feel of swollen places across the bottom of my feet) in March to April. Like Covid and Long Covid, you would not wish PN or the two syndrome and diaease on an enemy.
