I have been working out for 45 years of my life now I can’t work out anymore because I’m in a lot of pain. I’m just wondering if I aggravated it. I stopped working out for about two weeks now let’s see what happens

I thought if I just kept working on it, just kept stretching it, just kept taking those big deep breaths in yoga class then it would eventually go back to normal feeling ... it took me 15 years to figure out that it just wasn't going to happen. Finally one day in the middle of a deep (and painful) stretch I thought to myself "why do I keep hoping it's going to get better?" It took 15 years but I finally gave up. Still I go to physical therapy now just to keep myself moving - but I've accepted that at age 70 it's not ever going to be better. Just sucks sucks sucks to accept that. Makes me mad someone didn't tell me earlier that it was OK to give up sooner. I just hoped I could be normal again. The doctor should have told me.
