Nipple Sparing Mastectomy

Has anyone ever had a Nipple Sparing Mastectomy?
My doctor mentioned having a Mastectomy, as part of treatment, after having my Sentinel Node Biopsy surgery and I am trying to weigh all of my options if I do end up deciding to have a Mastectomy.

In 2020 I had a small tumor right at the top of my breast. No lymph node involvement. I had nipple sparing surgery and in 2023 the cancer returned emanating from the same spot. I had chemo and radiation and later in the year it returned, this time affecting all the skin in that area plus had spread to one node on the other side. I wish now I had made a different choice.

I’m sorry you went through all of that!
Is that because the nipple also had cancer in it?

My question was about a procedure called nipple sharing, not nipple sparing. This procedure can be done after an SMX. They take part of the nipple on the unaffected side, then transfer it to the side where reconstruction is done. Once it heals they tattoo an areola. I like the idea of having an actual nipple on my breast cancer side, but I am having a hard time finding anyone else who has done it. Just wanted to see if people were satisfied. All of that to say, I don’t think putting my question in a forum on nipple sparing will be helpful. Thanks, anyway

Hello. I had nipple sparring. I had lump and reconstruction and nipple sparring on both breast. I was very happy with my surgery. I feel like much like myself and not a feel like I had cancer specially looking in the mirror. I tell myself every day. I can beat this disease and not going to let it in.
