Can weight gain cause the Urostomy to leak?

Is it possible for the cause of an urostomy to leak by gaining weight. About 10 pounds

Absolutely. The weight gain changes the curve of your stomach. I gained weight and was having a terrible time with leaks. You my need to change to a new pouching system or try some wax rings to level the surface. Get in touch with an Ostomy nurse.

When I had many leaks over a period of time, working with the representative from Comfort Medical, he suggested I change my one piece convex pouching system with Coloplast, to a deep convex pouching, and this has made a big difference for me.
