I have also experienced the buckling of the leg. The pain also made me involuntarily cry out as it hurts so much, my husband heard me on the other side of the house. Pivoting and weight bearing on one leg are problematic. In the shower I have to bend all the way down to wash my foot on the opposing leg as I can't stand on that leg solely for any length of time. I would tell you that you are absolutely not crazy, and just because Dr.s have not identified the root cause doesn't make you crazy. Some people have recommended cortisone shots but as I am a diabetic, those are really not an option for me and they are not a permanent solution.
