Silent reflux can cause this sensation. I had globus sensation, in addition to other symptoms such as constant throat clearing and post nasal drip, for years (but no heartburn so did not recognize this as acid reflux). Once I dropped all acid products (vinegar, citrus, hot sauce, tea, coffee, alcohol, carbonated beverages, tomato, onion and garlic), all these symptoms went away after about 2 months on the diet. Unfortunately, I appear to have had enough damage from reflux that my upper esophageal sphincter is now not working properly (or it's a long covid symptom - my other theory). But diet won't fix the dysfunction so my ENT is going to try Botox to the upper sphincter muscle (cricopharyngeal muscle). At any rate, diet is always worth a shot (but you have to do it for at least 1-2 months, it's not a short-term fix). Hope you find some relief.

@ninawibb did you ever do that botox procedure to the cricopharyngeal muscle?

I have had these issues since after covid in 2020 and wondered if you got any relief from it…

Thanks!
