As I mentioned in that other discussion -- after going through all this, I was actually able to find my usual 5-pen box of the Lantus SoloStar pens at a Walgreens just a little farther away. Don't know why my usual neighborhood pharmacy couldn't have found that and either had it sent to them (like they did once before) or asked if I could go pick it up (like I did once before). Would have saved a lot of stress, as I really don't want to switch from my Lantus. But the good thing is that after doing all this research, I'll be prepared next time there is a shortage for real, and if Sanofi eventually stops making these pens.
