Pneumonia vaccine or not?

Like Sue, I was encouraged to get the vaccines. I asked my doc in bronchiectasis clinic about RSV and was encouraged to get it as soon as possible. (I had delayed because of URI’s from grandchildren). I asked last month if I really need another Covid booster-had one in fall. He said I should-I had 2
two trips planned for spring.

I am surprised at Mayo doc response. I saw a doc in Mayo’s pulmonary clinic a year ago and I’m pretty sure she told me to stay up with recommended vaccines and verified that I’d had RSV and pneumonia. (It could’ve been the resident.)

Side note…My sister-in-law had RSV and flu at the same time a few years ago and ended up on a ventilator for several days.

The fact that National Institutes of Health actually published that comprehensive summary suggests to me that the narrative is changing. Given the emergent side effects, it is about time. Clinics will catch up. Perhaps in the meantime it is all up in the air.
