Balance and falling a lot
I'm 75. My right hip was diagnosed by one doctor as bursitis. I had pain there. Other doctors refuted that diagnosis. Anyway, that right leg is much weaker than my left. It's hard to describe, but I can just feel it's weaker. In addition, when I move a certain way (I don't know what I do), I get a sharp pain in the crease between my thigh and groin. The big thing is I walk into walls and stuff, and I fall down very often, for seemingly no reason. I just topple over-any direction, anywhere. I'm wondering if anyone else has these symptoms and if they went to a doctor about it, and what specialty it should be. I don't want to be given a bunch of tests that all come out negative, and the doctor knows nothing. I can't usually walk too far at one time, sometimes, i.e. around a mall.
I'd be grateful for any input about this.

If he has dizzy spells - don't panic - but that with the falls could be the
beginning of Parkinson's. That's how mine started. Trouble
NO DIZZY SPELLS OR FEELINGS. I'm 75 and just sometimes topple over or swerve into walls, doorways, etc. NO OTHER SYMPTOMS.
Does anyone else have this? thank you so much.

Do you feel off balance like you are walking on a boat or like you go to turn the corner and your leg goes forward but your head seems to weigh 100lbs and you pitch backward or sideways? You bump into walls and fall down doing some of the simplest things? Like you were intoxicated but you've not had a drop of anything to drink? If so, it could be similar to what I got. I went to Mayo to get a full diagnosis back in 2014.
overcomer11 What was the diagnosis from Mayo. No, I don't seem have the symptoms you are describing. I just SIMPLY topple over or swerve into walls and doorways, etc. No heavy head and no boat feeling. No dizziness.
The "imbalance" part was diagnosed as Chronic Subjective Dizziness. Basically my brain/body is hyper sensitive to the movement of my head and objects around me. I have other diagnosi that go along with it that exasterbate it but it occurs alone as well.
Thank you for your answer to my balance question. I went to the Mayo website you noted here and I will be looking to see a Neurologist during my visit to the Clinic in October. Bob @ Carver2000
Welcome @carver2000. I'm glad that this discussion has provided some clarity to your balance questions and that you have an appointment to address the issues. I always recommend taking the time to keep a journal of your symptoms up until you see the specialist as this can help answer the questions that will be asked of you. You might also think of preparing questions for the physician beforehand as well. What type of things would you want to ask?
Good suggestions....I'll Start on both and be ready for Oct.
I am happy you found the problem. Sometimes even doctors feel were kidding or just looking for attention when we tell them somethings wrong, and when they do a simple test that shows nothing there, well they feel its enough and they don't need to dig any further. Well thats not true, their the doctor for a reason, no matter how they feel or see us as a patient. I hate going to doctors, i hate the ones that are condescending and feel they know my body better by asking me 3 or 4 questions and write it off as nothing. i do research on my doctors, than after I get all the info. I choose whom I want to see from the portfolio I have. Oh yes I dig like I want my doctor who is going to treat me .If they aren't interested, Well I keep looking. There are very good doctors out there. Talk to fiends, ask neighbors, call their medical field and request names, do research, than find the doctor you want, the one who will dig and not just blow you off.
