Meanwhile, for people citing instances of improved DEXA scans and fractures, or who are disappointed that they have osteopenia and fractures while some people with OP do not, there has been discussion about the difference between bone density and bone strength. Supposedly that is why the REMS ultrasound scan is better than a basic DEXA, because it includes information on bone strength as well as density. The TBS software used on some DEXA scans supposedly offers similar insight. I had the REMS earlier this year and it showed good bone strength for my age. Hope it's true!
