I haven't experimented much with essential oils yet, but will certainly check it out!

I wanted to share a recipe for a Detox bath from Dr Terry Wahls Protocol Cooking for Life book. I've done it twice so far and found it helpful in calming my mind and symptoms. One cup of baking soda, one cup of Epsom salts, one to two tablespoons of bentonite clay powder (more could potentially clog your plumbing) and/or 1 teaspoon of kelp.

I've just realized this recipe does not include essential oils - Dr Wahls recipe immediately below it suggests mixing 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil, one tablespoon of sea salt, one tablespoon of epsom salts and 20 to 30 drops of frankincense essential oil and massaging the mixture over your legs or areas where you are having nerve pain.

I've got to confess I somehow mixed up the two recipes and have been adding 4-10 drops of frankincense to the detox tub, and the scent is heavenly. So relaxing. Particularly if I add a relaxing audiobook or ASMR podcast to listen to to prevent me from thinking/overthinking about neuropathy or anything else! (plugged in or placed at a safe distance from the tub of course!)

I realized since I'm sharing Dr Wahls' personal care recipes I might as well share the simpler bath salts recipe: "Soaking in a bath is an excellent way to take in more magnesium, which helps with muscle healing and strength. Mix 1/2 cup sea salt with 1/2 cup of Epsom salts and pour in to a warm bath. Add 4 to 10 drops of your favorite essential oil. I like lavender, sandalwood or chamomile for a relaxing bath. For more moisture, add 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil to the bathwater." (The Wahls Protocol Cooking for Life, Chapter 12 - Household and Personal Care Recipes)
