If you are playing tennis you are getting great aerobic exercise. I too have gained weight in later years of life not losing it and trying to lose it not gain it.
I had to stop playing tennis a decade ago due to complications it was causing with my ICD/Pacemaker wires which reduced my calorie outgo drastically. I have since started doing Sprint Triathlons and train for them. But I am not 77 years old and this old body has trouble doing all that training and the wear and tear of doing the races.
I take my time and do moderate paces but I notice very few other participants in my age group. My PCP wants me to do more strength exercises saying my body had adapted to my exrercise routine (mostly aerobic) and need to add muscle mass.
