Osteoporosis medicine during invisalign

Posted by terri3 @terri3, Mar 19 6:01am

I have been on Evenity for 11 months and my bone density has greatly improved. I have one more dose left. I started Invisalign a month ago and was cleared to get it by my rheumatologist and dentist. I just came across studies showing some contraindications. Your bones might not grow back to support the teeth that have been moved by braces and bone resorption issues. It can lead to necrosis of the jaw. Has anyone used Invisalign while on osteoporosis medicines?

@terri3

I was wondering how many trays you had and how o ten you had to change them. Were you on anything prio to the Evenity? Thanks

I cant recall how many I had. I did it for a year and changed trays every two weeks. I had to redo two trays though because I had chewed them up so badly.
Prior to Evenity, I was on Forteo and Tymlos for five months each. My doctor was getting samples for me from drug rep. My insurance wouldn’t cover them. Doctor died suddenly and I wasn’t treated for a while. My fault.
