Thank you all for your contributions. I went today for the colposcopy. She found an area that had a different appearance than neighboring cells. She biopsied that and expects the lab report to say I should have another pap in a year. She also told me that even if I never had an abnormal pap, they left one ovary and notwithstanding it has resorbed, the cells are still there and could turn cancerous.

@pb50 Thank you for sharing this update. I hope that the biopsy doesn't show anything of concern. Your gynecologist certainly is on top of your things and I hope will continue to follow you. Did she say when she expects to hear back from the lab about your biopsy?

Pb50~Game20I8 have recently experienced many of the same diagnosis. Had complete hysterectomy 40 years ago! Noticed changes in the vulva area decided to get a Pap smear. Wow! Abnormal (1st ever) pap, LS, HPV, HSIL. Undecided if I had a cervix, had vaginal ultrasound. No Cervix! Next colposcopy, vinegar solution showed white spots (I could see it on the camera screen) then biopsy. VAIN 1, HSIL
Then as Gyno Doc was finishing says you need to go back to dermatologist and have the brown spots Biopsied on vulva for melanoma. Came back benign on brown spots.
Never knew all the possible cancerous conditions. Said, See you in a year. Will be a long year
