My limited view is anecdotal - my mom had lupus/Lymphoma. She was on prednisone and then had chemo. Ultimately, the ball wore through the thin bone of the socket and they had to remove the entire joint because there was nothing to attach to. I also heard an orthopedist (webinar) say that by the time people with OP get to him, it's too late to do anything. I'll be following to see what others say.
