High Vitamin B6: How can I lower it?

Posted by landersen804 @landersen804, Mar 17 5:35pm

I have a high Vitamin B6 level but have never taken vitamin supplements. Has anyone had this happen to them. I have no idea how to lower it.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about vitamin B6 . You could look up the vitamin B6 on your computer and
see what it has about the vitamin. Good luck.

Have you looked up what foods have a high level of vitamin B6? Perhaps you have been consuming foods with a high level of B6. I do know that bananas have a high B6 level. You also might want to do some research on the Mayo Clinic website and other medical websites besides Google to discover if there is anything other than food that has B6 in it.

Also, how do you feel? If you feel good and normal perhaps that's just the way your body is and you needn't worry about it. After all, we are all different especially when it comes to physical aspects of our bodies.

I hope you get some answers!

Dear @pmt,https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/high-vitamin-b6/?pg=1#
I'm sorry if I offended you. That is the best advice I could offer you. I'm not a Doctor,
I just gave you my honest opinion. I'm very sorry. Did you talk with your Doctor or
a pharmacist? That is a thought.
Good Evening,
Peter

Hi there, These are the foods that are high in B6: beef, chicken, fish, tofu, pork, pistachios, sweet potatoes, avocados, potatoes, and bananas. Perhaps cutting back on them will help. Praying for you.

No she did not. I looked at the list of foods that are high in Vitamin B6 and I eat most of them but only in moderation. Not sure what to cut back on ...

Last week I had an appointment with a nutritionist. Luckily for me I had prepared a list of all the vitamin supplements I take. He told me I was taking too much Vitamin D and indicated which vitamins I should stop taking. I was also taking a special kind of Vitamin B. I indicated this one and told him that when I finished the bottle I was going to switch over to Vitamin B6. He told me not to go over 50 mg. I hope this helps.

Thank you. Unfortunately I am not taking any vitamin supplements at all and so I can't reduce my intake.

Thank you. I have awful symptoms of lightheadedness and tremors. I will now try to reduce my intake of foods high in vitamin B6 and see what happens.
Fingers crossed....

Surely the doctor who ordered the test can give some idea of what should be done (if anything).

I also get annoyed that the test results show up in my “portal”, but I don’t know how to interpret the result. Then, have to wait for the follow-up appointment to have more clarification. It seems that if you have something out of the norm, a call from your doctor’s office would not be an unreasonable expectation. I imagine you are waiting for your follow-up appointment to find out the meaning of the result.
It’s a bad setup.
