Scheduling random appointments before first visit

Posted by janeanon @janeanon, Mar 16 4:32pm

I logged into my portal to see more random appointments scheduled. My first visit will be in April, initially I was scheduled for labs and an ultrasound in addition to the evaluation, all on the same day.
Now it looks like they've scheduled a video consult and another appointment with a specialist for a random day.
Is this normal protocol? They don't have my medical history or know why I'm going. All they have is my one symptom. One appointment is for rheumatology and the other orthopedics. I want to keep an open mind but I've seen a bunch of rheumatologists who have all ruled out autoimmune disease. I was going to mayo clinic because I thought they would have insight, or new ideas not to keep doing the same thing over and over.
I'm starting to think this is a waste of time and a waste of money.
Shouldn't they at least get my medical history before scheduling random appointments?
