Interspinous Process Spacers for spinal stenosis
Has anyone tried Stabilink (MIS Interlaminar Spinal Fixation System). It's a device placed in the spinal cord for people suffering from degenerative disc desase and have chronic back pain. It includes spondylolisttheis.

Hello,
Do you mind if I ask your age? I need exactly what you’ve had done but I’m 72 and concerned that I can’t have it because of my age.
Thank you
Kerry
@dalton7 My cousin who is an 80 year old man had a laminectomy lumbar spine surgery and he did great. He was walking right away, and only on pain medicine for a week. He improved a lot in the first 2 weeks and at the end of the first month, he was pretty much pain free. Just being 72 probably isn't going to prevent surgery unless there are other health issues complicating it and raising the risks. This would be something to ask your doctors and how everything about your health may affect your ability to recover.

Thank you Jennifer. That’s encouraging information.
You have givem me hope I am 80 and maybe spinal surgery coming up...Thanks so much
@deestb, welcome. Have you decided to have spinal surgery? What are the pros and cons as you see it?
I've run into an issue where MRI was ordered and I never heard back. But I could see my results on the portal at the imaging center. Nothing serious was noted. When I did connect with the doctor he told me it was fine. So in my experience I would say if they didn't contact you then it is more likely that the report will be less serious. Also CT is good for bone, but MRI is preferred to visually evaluate soft tissue including disc pathology. My surgeon always orders MRI first and if bad, then will order CT. Just FYI.
