I’m going through that right now. Just had stricture corrected and now trying to choose a treatment. I had been set up for Brachy, but my Dr wants to take that off the table due to concern over causing another stricture. He is offering IMRT. , but Im not sure why that is safer ,…. Frustrated by the confusion.

Totally understand your frustration. No clear path to treatment, especially when it comes to stricture possibilities. I had an urethroplasty in 2021 that solved my 10-year issue and now am facing the possibility of a reoccurrence with prostrate treatment. At this point I believe I will opt for surgery and seek reassurance from my urologist, who fixed the stricture, that he can do it again if necessary. Isn't it ironic that we may suffer from incontinence and voiding issues at the same time. The radiation oncologist I visited said seeds are out and no one would recommend that treatment due to my stricture history. I haven't found a lot information online, but it seems to me that stricture possibilities would be higher with radiation vs. surgery. Please post if you find any more information about strictures. WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST IN MAKING A TREATMENT DECISION.
