What is the proper procedure in obtaining a second opinion?

What is the proper procedure in obtaining a second opinion? Do I select any doctor at another hospital? Do I bring copies of my records including mammogram results, sonogram images? Will the present doctors feel offended if I get second opinions?

While the conditions may be unrelated, there may be relevant surgical reasons that the wait is necessary specific to your husband's health status. What type of colon surgery does your husband need for what condition? Did you ask why the wait was necessary?
