My husband is seeking second opinion on colon surgery but recently had surgery on ankle. He was told by Mayo will it give him appointment until 91 days after his ankle surgery. I don’t understand this since it’s unrelated.

While the conditions may be unrelated, there may be relevant surgical reasons that the wait is necessary specific to your husband's health status. What type of colon surgery does your husband need for what condition? Did you ask why the wait was necessary?
