Success Story About a Family Member that May Help Others, Teagan is 15

Story is from Carolina Functional Neurology Center, Huntersville, NC:
A success story that requires a double plank! Teagan came to us with chief complaints of allergic reactions and pain.

She would have random reactions that would begin with her ears burning, maybe some nausea, and then she would get a rash that tingles and burned.

She was also having an episode once per day where she would get tachycardic, feel nauseous, lightheaded, and need to sit or lay down to let the feeling pass. She was also having visual complaints with orthostatic changes where her vision would go black or red to the point where she couldn’t see.

Teagan came in twice per week for five weeks, and then once per week for eight weeks. During that time, we worked on autonomic nervous system retraining, primitive reflex remediation, cerebellar exercises, balance, and more!

We also gave Teagan supplements to work on her system from a neurochemical perspective. Since beginning treatment, Teagan has not had any allergic reactions, her presyncope is better, and her visual complaints are much better.

She said that everything has improved since treatment, with her chief complaint now being completely resolved!

Teagan is now doing check-ins while completing neurorehab at home, so that we can monitor her progress.

We are so happy to have gotten to know Teagan and been a part of her journey!

That’s sounds fascinating. I live between Greensboro and Burlington. and know your area well. I had no idea that autonomic nervous system could be retrained! Do you treat BPPV ?

I think everyone subscribing to this discussion board will be happy to hear a success story. Thank you for sharing.

One thing I want to mention is that when I researched the phrase, “functional neurology,” I came up with a list of chiropractic practices in my area (Los Angeles). I then looked up the facility mentioned in this post (Carolina Functional Neurology Center) and found it too is staffed by chiropractors, and something I’ve never heard of: chiropractic neurologists. This is not to make a judgment about chiropractors or chiropractic neurologists and their methods of practice and treatments, but simply to point out that they are not medical doctors (MDs). Those of us with neurological conditions should be aware of this, as it may (or may not) be a factor in our decision to seek this type of treatment.

More fyi, Hope this helps: A chiropractic neurologist is a Doctor of Chiropractic or the equivalent that has taken 300 post-doctoral hours of coursework in functional neurology and passed the rigorous written and performance exams required for certification by the ACNB.
