I had it done back in 2016 at L5-S1 for lower back pain. Performed at out-patient surgical center. Did nothing to help. I suppose there are people for whom it did help. I was not one of the Lucky ones.
In all respect, @brotherchuckes80, I have been pleased with the red light therapy "gimmick" that has returned some feeling to the bottom of my feet ~ this in spite of continued numbness.....a contradiction I can't explain and don't understand. My PT/Myokinesthetist or her assistant apply the treatments. Unfortunately, the strength of the laser (red light) that Medicare covers did not work but the strength that does work (I think it is referred to as "4th class") is not covered. It is worth the relief that it provides for me to pay out of pocket for it. Another "gimmick" that has provided some relief is the Bemer treatment (covered by Medicare). In addition I credit my chiropractor, my primary care doc, and my pain specialist for their parts in dealing with my distal symmetric axonal-demyelinating sensory-motor peripheral neuropathy. For me, I have not found just one therapy ~ rather, there are a lot of pieces that come together to provide some relief from a multitude of symptoms. Like you said - no cure. But some relief is better than none.

Thank you Charles. I have plenty of nerve pain so that sounds like a match. Now I’m confused why my nm doctor was against the pain managements ‘ablation’ and epidural. She said it would make my balance worse.
I thought both those doctors should be on the same page. So I have not had any procedures to help my nerve pain which has reached agonizing levels. It’s worsened and is more frequent. I’m worried. If i don’t get the right help this could become permanent.

1 ReactionNo it did not. It is used for nerve pain. Thee is no cure for neuropathy. Don't get scammed by the gimmicks out there; example red light therapes etc.
