Had that. Didn't do well on gabapentin prescribed by my regular doctor. My neurologist proscribed R-Lipoic Acid 300 mg 2ce a day and burning is gone. This is an expensive over-the-counter drug but get from Amazon or a good pharmacy, not CVS etc.
