Hi @tonybee,
There was a randomized control trial on this, and it was specific to FORTIBONE® made by Gelita. This collagen is different to all others on the market. You should be aware that the developer Gelita funded the research. It appears to have been conducted to a high standard as a randomized, placebo-controlled double-blinded investigation. and it did show an increase in BMD over the trial period of 12 months.

Here's a link to the study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5793325/

Dr. Doug Lucas of Optimal Bone Health posted a video on this subject on YouTube last year. If you want to watch it, follow this link: https://youtu.be/9-7qnPerpS4?si=zJ8x9PyjCSK5dZjX

I wish you all the best on your bone health journey.

What makes this collagen different than all others on the market? I am a little skeptical as this premise is promoted only by those who sell it. Type 1 collagen is supposed to be specific to bone and that can be found in marine or bovine collagen. I contacted Dr McCormick to ask if one might be better than the other for building bone and his response was "that's a good question" and "I suspect bovine but I don't know". Fortibone might be a fine product but I have some concerns that marketing (like in the name of it) might be at play.
