Hypertension is a risk factor, and as with diabetes or kidney disease, I guess that it would depend on if your blood vessels or cardiovascular system have been damaged before you got your BP under control. BP often goes along with chronic kidney disease, but as far as I know that subgroup was not analyzed. My understanding is that doctors do prescribe it for people with hypertension on a case by case basis. I imagine they would assure that it is under control first. I was interested in it because of the Medicare coverage but the PA who advised me was against it. I may ask to follow up with a few months of it when I finish Tymlos.
