Bone Coach - How do you know it works?

Fact check here - there is no evidence that Evenity "substantially" increases cvd risks. There was one study where the Evenity side of the trial did very slightly worse than the biophosphnate on the other side in number of cvd events. In another trial Evenity was the same as placebo for cvd incidents. So I would say there is a slight possibility of increased risk with Evenity. Some "top osteo docs" have stated in interviews etc that they suspect there is no increased risk with Evenity for cvd.

Nothing suggestive of cvd incidents has shown up in osteoporosis forums that I know of. The only safety factor that I know of that weighs against Evenity is just that it hasn't been in use as long. Sometimes problems don't show up for years. Full disclosure, I'm getting my fifth Evenity shot today.

I hope that Evenity works well for you. Are you referring to the ARCH or FRAME study? Amgen has warned of the risk of MACEs from the use of Evenity, especially in a subgroup of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease and a history of fairly recent heart attacks, strokes, or other cardiovascular events and possibly older people. The results of the two trials are not entirely consistent. It is possible the warning, required by the FDA, will be removed over time, just as concerns about bone cancer from the anabolic drugs has waned as more data has accumulated. However, many experts do have reservations at this time, even while acknowledging that Evenity is likely to be the most effective option for many people, in part because it has anti reabsorption properties as well as the as the ability to promote the growth of new bone. I did not mean to imply that it is a bad choice for everyone or for you.
