Constipation: What helps?
For the past 10 years, I have had severe constipation problems. I tried many medicines, and I have gone through 3 times endoscopy but discovered nothing. From 2015 till now my constipation problem couldn't be solved. To make it worse now I'm having multiple internal haemorrhoids due to this constipation. I don't know why I'm having this constipation problem.
Many people suggested many things like changing diets, taking a lot of fibre intake, reducing stress, quit smoking. I burp a lot and do have acid reflux as well but now it is getting better. What is the best solution for my constipation?

I was in the same boat,, knew I couldn't discontinue my laxatives.. My Gastroenterologist allowed me to continue all of the laxatives I was on and still do the test. My results showed slow colonic motility even with all that I take. So see if your doctor is willing to do the study with you on your meds.
‘’ How Magnesium Affects Your Blood Pressure:
In addition to regulating blood pressure levels, magnesium helps regulate blood sugar levels as well as the production of bone, protein, and DNA.2
“Magnesium is a cofactor in over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body including protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, and blood glucose control,” Zumpano said.
Its effect on the cardiovascular system is similar to that of potassium.
“Magnesium and potassium both have an important role in electrical impulse conduction in the heart and in the body’s nervous system,” Liu explained.”

Magnesium citrate works only TOO well! Careful when you first try it, use only a small amount.
I can't remember the dosage, but don't use the suggested dose, go less until you see the result.
This was my experience only, perhaps others had a different experience.
I wish the magnesium supplement worked for me. I take 300 mg per day, but still must do Metamucil and Miralax in order to go. Now….if I take a dose of Milk of Magnesium, I will go. Hmmm….so, idk.
I use something called Mag07– it’s a capsule that I generally just take 1 at night.

Here’s an interesting article, especially about the meds we take!

An idea, balance you potassium, sodium and magnesium (electrolytes) If you have a redundant colon maybe even take the combo once in the night too. A quart of warm water first thing in the morning and even a cup of coffee might help if you want to go sans meds? Good luck
Another good article on constipation and magnesium, plus other supplements.
