T-9–T12 Laminectomy recovery

Posted by srkellen @srkellen, Jan 26 6:54am

Husband had severe stenosis and nerve compression in T-9–T12. Had muscle weakness and wasting in legs and lost ability to walk without a walker. 11 weeks post laminectomy..started making progress and better leg mobility and this week both legs feel weaker and he has had increased muscle spasms/jerking of his legs. Is this a normal a
progression? 2 steps forward and 1 seep back…have any of you experienced this and what was the end result?

@srkellen I apologize that your discussion was missed. How is your husband doing now 4 weeks after surgery?

I did find this discussion with other members discussing recovery from a laminectomy where you may be able to meet @IndianaScott who has had this surgery. I am a spine surgery patient too, and my surgery was a cervical fusion.
