@susangaylor — I am currently experiencing this. Apparently, fluid can get trapped in the abdomen because of the heart‘s ability to pump effectively. I feel bloated all of the time – and my belly protrudes over my pants. I used to have a flat six pack, but now it looks like a beer belly. The worst part is that it is hindering my ability to breathe. It is difficult for me to get a full breath. It’s even worse when I exert or exercise. In no time, I’m panting. My cardiologist acts like it’s no big thing. But according to my research, it has been characterized as “a serious cardiovascular condition.“ I encourage you to do some research online about this. If your doctor won’t take you seriously, perhaps it’s time to get a second opinion? Good luck – and let me know how things turn out for you. I haven’t seen whether or not this condition is reversible. I take a diuretic daily, but it doesn’t help. I don’t have swelling in my feet or limbs – just my abdomen. It’s making my life miserable.
