I jad hip replacement surgery in January 2023. I did well with PT. It wasn’t until about 6 months post’op that I felt close to normal. Now that i am plus 1 year out, i am doing well. I have not gotten back to .y previous strength and endurance levels, but i can see progress. I walked/run a 10 k last month. K have a 5 k planned in late April and i hope to mostly run

Hi, I don't know your age, but my last hip replacements were put in when I was 61 years old, and I was told I could expect them to last 20-25 years if I was careful - including no running ( I was a lifelong runner.) 12 years later, they look good, but are starting to show a little wear - I do not want to undergo another replacement or revision, so I am safeguarding them with strength and flexibility exercises and low impact exercise, but I will never stress them with regular running.

Your results may vary, but I plan to err on the side of caution (I also dance a few hours every week.) Can you find a racewalking group to compete with?
