As you will see, it is prescribed mainly for treating gout, and is also used to treat a rare condition called familial Mediterranean fever (FMF). @aman_23_23 may I ask why your doctor has prescribed atenolol (beta blocker) for you? We're glad to know you're feeling better, and look forward to hearing back from you.

My cardiologist prescribed atenolol close to the beginning of all this to lower my heart rate and take stress off my heart.
I didn't know colchicine was also used for Familial Mediterranean Fever, now I want to look into that. My mom's side of the family is from that part of the world.
