I am able to bring up the mucus with the acapella but my doctor wanted to try me on a vest. I tried an Afflovest but it resulted in my having neck and back pain. I changed to a Smartvest and now I am developing back pain. Does anyone have any tips?

Vests are not for everyone. I have an Afflovest and found it helped with clearance but wasn't magic. Alas, it gave me rib pain after a while. Now it's mostly sits idle but every now and then I'll put it on if I feel like I need a bit extra help. I've read that posture is very important with vest usage. Some RTs suggest sitting in a straight-back chair as upright as possible during vest treatment, which you might try.

I've concluded the best way for me, until they come up with something different for airway clearance, is levalbuterol or albuterol first followed by 7% saline. So far this routine helps to keep my airways clear as possible.
