Thank you for responding. I’m 77 & had surgery Dec 1 & I’m struggling with all sorts of pain issues. I’ve been athletic so this has taken me by surprise. I can’t determine what is normal. I’ve been told that my recovery could take as long as a year; that is discouraging. I was hoping I would be golfing in 3 months but I’m struggling walking 35 minutes outdoors and was advised not to bend at the waist just yet. These are the types of details I was hoping someone would share. Can u help with details of his recovery? ❤️🩹
Had one hip replaced a few years ago. Arthritis. I took and would recommend anyone take pain medication --- not just ibuprofen or acetaminophen, something stronger Rx'd by your doc. There is no reason to just live with pain. It does not help in any way. If you can walk for 35 mins. you're doing very well!
I jad hip replacement surgery in January 2023. I did well with PT. It wasn’t until about 6 months post’op that I felt close to normal. Now that i am plus 1 year out, i am doing well. I have not gotten back to .y previous strength and endurance levels, but i can see progress. I walked/run a 10 k last month. K have a 5 k planned in late April and i hope to mostly run
Thank you. I don’t intent to run marathons in the future. 😥I am doing strength training with PT professionals. After hearing from several people, I’m at ease as to what to expect.
Thank you!

My 70 yr. old husband had both hips replaced. He had a painful long recovery, maybe 3 months. Now his 30 something doctor had the same procedure and was up and about in a week or two. So I think my husbands age delayed his recover but I have to tell you he is now 3 yrs. out and doing very well...good luck !
