If you don’t have a problem with swelling, I’d be wary of wearing them, except for long drives or airplane rides. My PT home exercise program has exercises which stretch out the tarsal joints of my neuropathy foot- my toes have done the hammer-toe thing due to the neuropathy-caused imbalance of the flexor and extensor muscles. I’m thinking the compression hose will put a direct “squish” together of those joints and tissues. I do elevate my leg regularly as it just feels good to stretch out my knee and ankle. I also bought Yoga toes on Amazon and wear the one while watching TV- they are gel and gently stretch the toes- read about them in a running magazine.

Those exercises sound helpful. They were designed/prescribed by your PT or are similar available with descriptions online, perhaps?

I try to go for a few visits to PT every year and a half or so to see if my home program needs to be updated and to have the PT watch me walk and help me with any bad habits I’ve fallen into, before they become ingrained. It’s really worth it. Last time I was in, he pointed out that I was tending to tilt to my stronger leg, which was causing my spine to twist. He also gave me the foot exercises. Maybe if you Googled “foot stretching” there might be something, maybe on the Mayo site under “preventing fasciitis”.
I think a regular PT “tune-up” really helps prevent other problems.

The compression socks worked well for a while, but sadly the pain has returned. If I turn over to my other side in bed the pain eases and also it does not last very long, as it did before wearing the socks. It is an awful pain and difficult to endure.

My neurologist a while back recommended foot stretch exercises for people with MS. I’ve attached pics. You can use a belt or towel under the foot and pull up. This to my mind mimics the action of a splint used to treat planter fasciitis.

I wouldn’t recommend it either
It makes it worse for me for the last 2 years I’ve been stretching every morning, mid-day and in the evening before I go to bed make a habit if it like making coffee in the morning or taking your meds ..
I have spinal Arachnoiditis and MS
it helps me … stretch your arms , legs just like it was when you were in grade school in gym class be like Nike and just do it !! And for those of you that our like me and can’t stand I have stretch bands of different strengths.. The main focus here is to stay loose and keep the ligaments, tendons from drawing up when one realizes how effective this is just like grade school you’ll see the significance in doing so you’ll feel better push yourself after you get use to it after a few months to hold the stretch that burn yo feel is a good thing be safe and talk to a physician or a personal trainer.. I’m a ISSA certified trainer and In nutrition since 2008 and Ive competed in competitions for 10 years at one time I could bench press 420 pounds and im only 225
Pounds 6 ft and could squat 625 I was a beast at one time Lol 😁
Hang n there every one when in this together I know your pain mine never shuts off never so let’s make the best of it and take our minds off the pain !!!! And do something to make life a little more joyful …. Sorry for the long post folks but as my savior Jesus Christ our lord above father watch over all of give us the strength to move forward I want to the things set forth lord I want to see what you see but through your eyes in Jesus name amen 🙏🏻 God Bless Everyone
here and may the the God answer your prayers as he does for me thanks for listening

I've tried them for a month, and don't find them to be much help with numbness & pain in my LEs. The most negative part is that they tend to force my toes together which makes it even more difficult to walk.

Well I don't know if it helps the PN but I do have some blood pooling in the feet. I switched to 15-20mmHg I have osteoarthritis in my hands and getting them on is a challenge. If it helps the PN great if not I haven't lost anything.

I have worn TED hose since 2009. (Prescription compression hose). I still ended up with hammer toes and getting blisters on them. My legs still swell in them. On top of the neuropathy causing swelling. I was diagnosed with lymphedema. My cardiologist has ordered a compression device that hospitals use at night. I have slept in my TED hose at times. It does not stop the neuropathy pain. My compression hose is 20-30 mmg. Your insurance will cover them with a prescription. I order from Occfit solutions. They automatically refill your prescription and ship them to you. They do cause your legs and feet to dry out. Put lotion on them.
