@8fish

Thank you for replying @windyshores. I’m so sorry about your GERD issues with Fosamax. I just read your recent post about your troubles with Evenity, too. That must be frustrating. The reason I want to take Fosamax instead of Reclast is because I have clenching and TMJ issues on the left side of my jaw. I have one implant on that side and each of the other molars on the left have had two or three root canals. So my dentist and endodontist have both warned me not to take a bisphosphonate by infusion. I’m on Tymlos now and I know I have to follow that with some type of bisphosphonate to lock in my gains. I’d just rather take Fosamax since then I wouldn’t have to worry about my teeth. To make matters more complicated one of my doctors just told me she doesn’t think Fosamax works as well because it’s in pill form and not an infusion. I still don’t think Reclast is safe for me, so I’m hoping she’s wrong. If anyone has an opinion about locking in gains with Fosamax, I hope they’ll post it here.

Good morning 8fish. I don’t have a personal opinion, but my endocrinologist did tell me that Reclast is more effective than the pills, but that was in a discussion about a stand alone treatment plan. Having said that, I’m on Osnuvo (teriparatide, Canada’s biosimilar to Forteo), and she suggested Reclast after. I said I may prefer to go on Actonel weekly pill and she said that would be okay if I can tolerate it (I didn’t do well with Fosamax 15 years ago so I stopped taking it after one pill!).
