Can't get an appointment: Any tips on what to do?

@fab44

I have been rejected by Mayo Clinic for my serious sinus and throat clearing problems. They apparently don't care and will not allow me an appointment. I would like to spend 10 minutes of my throat clearing with them and then see what they think. They apparently don't think it is serious enough. So feeling like I am chocking on mucus every day and night is not serious? I have done everything possible to help with my problem and have had no success. That is why I contacted Mayo clinic (Phoenix) but was denied and appointment. It is my opinion that they are way TOO OVERATED and snobs! I am not finished with Mayo Clinic yet!!!

@fab44, not getting an appointment feels like a gut punch. You investing hope in making that appointment request - hope that you'd finally get answers and promise of hope and healing the Mayo Clinic is known.

Please know that you were not denied an appointment because your health issues are not serious enough. Your health issues limit your quality of life. It's scary to choke on mucus every day.

You're probably not going to like what I'm going to write next. Mayo Clinic simply has more requests for appointments than available openings in some departments. Availability depends on the nature and urgency of the problem and Mayo Clinic's ability to help (as determined by a Mayo Clinic doctor). The complexity of the medical condition, or for less complex conditions, the availability of care closer to home are important factors to consider.
