Am being pushed to have a bag hanging around my waist No help form doctors to talk to a nurse or????????? about this issue. to get some answers to questions. Just this is it lady take it or go die And how does one have this 5 gallon pail hanging on your waist & take care of 70 animals plus ride a horse competitive. No help at all from medical staff just have this done and go away CVestor

@cvestor, when you go to your appointment at Mayo Clinic, talk about your options with them. An ostomy may not be necessary or it may be temporary. If you do need an ostomy, talk to your team about your activities and lifestyle. Ask questions about getting back on the horse and how soon you can do it.

Given that you are a competitive rider (wow!), you are likely in really good shape. That will serve you well for recovery from treatment. What type of riding do you do?
