There is a family history of depression in my family and I suffered with it 3 times in my life. It took several different antidepressants and dosage changes to make a difference. Last year it seemed the medications weren't working at all anymore and I felt miserable. My therapist recommended TMS, Trans-cranial Magnetic Stimulation, which targets a part of the brain that deals with mood. Thankfully, Medicare helped make it affordable and after the series of them (30+)I truly felt like my old self again. So thankful for this technology!

I am so very glad for you and if you start to relapse due the maintenace program !!
You are strong , brave and so proud of you!! It’s a commitment and you did it!!
In the process now of TMS!!

When you say Medicare help make it affordable, can you elaborate more? I'm on Medicare and was able to find a provider that helped me cut cost on ketamine treatments that didn't help my depression symptoms. So I'm interested in knowing more, ty.

John, I'm with you as I have chronic neck pain and another herniated disc. Chronic pain can certainly contribute to depression/anxiety, but the TMS took care of the depression for me so that I am more capable of dealing with the pain. Thanks for your kind well wishes. I hope the same for you and that you find the comfort you seek.

Hey I’m almost in my 3rd week of TMS and feel better than I did 3 weeks ago I just turned 47 and I have tried at least 30 meds in the last 20 years. Most didn’t work or couldn’t handle the side effects. I was about to go for spravato but didn’t like the reviews and with GAD don’t need nothing making anxiety worse, so we will see how this works. They gave me a sample of Auvelity will try that. Me and SSRI/SNRIs don’t get along. I’ve been managing the 5 days a week was on lamictal and that makes it hard because the nerves weren’t responding thankfully got off of it after 5 years. Just want to feel better and stop living on Ativan. I took Wellbutrin years ago I don’t remember it working. Didn’t know TRD was a thing. Glad I found this community so I know I’m not crazy. Keep posting it helps.

Surely hope it helps it’s better than any of the many drug side effects I have been on .

I was skeptical about TMS but after the series of treatments, it has greatly improved my mental well being so I recommend it for TRD.
