Breast Cancer spread to the skin!
Hi there, I am wondering if anyone out there have had breast cancer returning in the skin!!! I had a mastectomy and sentinel node removed 10 years ago. A year ago the scar from the sentinel node removal started itching. My GP sent me for an Ultra Sound. Nothing showing ! 6 months later small itchy pimple size lumps had developed. US again, but nothing showing! 1 year later the lumps are a little bigger and I see my doctor at the Outpatient Surgery at the Hospital. They are not concerned but I want to know what is making these lumps in my armpit, so they do a biopsy and find "small nests of hormone positive breast cancer cells". LABC , Locally Advanced Breast Cancer. They suggest a full on radiation and chemo treatment but I am not ready for that yet!!! As I generally feel really good. Now I have also noticed thickening of the skin on my chest wall. My doctors have said this is uncommon and therefore not easily picked up by them. I would love to hear from anyone who has some experience with this. Thanks in advance😀 Ginny100

Hi Ginny1000 - in bed resting after long few days of cancer twists & turns but lots of positive things so didn’t want to forget to reach out. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in my skin in mid 2019. Stage 4 by Oct 2019. Just came back over holidays for 3rd time. In various postings under my name you will find relevant details. The speed bumps are there. I have gotten over them through education, hard work, exercise, good nutrition, family, friends known & unknown, God, miracles, this website & luck. I have had many positives in my life since then & can honestly say my husband & I have made cancer a force of change in our lives. A health survey wanted me to rate my health - I would have said 90 out of 100 day in & out. The big C my life I try to keep to a small letter. Cancer is a big deal but so are many other things. I didn’t see your age, enough details about treatment, etc. Could be in there & missed it. You took some great first steps by educating yourself and then reaching out to this fabulous website. We are unknown friends to turn too. Good luck!!
I was just diagnosed with my 2nd reoccurrence of TNBC - a small pimple like bump showed up - 2 mammograms and ultrasounds- it didn’t pick it up (apparently if it is on your skin- it doesn’t show up ) had Breast MRI then Petscan - only a 9mm spot on my skin showed up. Waiting to see my oncologist on the 22nd. Surgery is scheduled for March 8th. Seeing an intregrative doctor this week…🙏🏼
Thanks keep moving, I am 74. Tomorrow I will have a CT scan to see if it is anywhere else in my body. I feel physically great but a little concerned. What sort of treatment did you have and was yours just in the skin? Hope you are feeling ok / good 👍 🙏🙏.
Hi all🙏. Does any one have any experience or knowledge about electrochemotherapy? I have locally advanced breast cancer in the skin and have heard that in Europe and Uk they give electrochemotherapy as treatment for this at some hospitals. I however live in Australia 🦘. Would really appreciate some feedback on this. Thank you 🙏 🙏
@ginny100, here's some information that I found:
