My pleasure Karen!!! Thank you for the additional information sent on your son. I hope acupuncture brings relief to those body pains of your son. 🙏 The Japanese massage my acupuncturist did after the acupuncture was also helpful.
Another thing I share with you is the use of rescue spray. When my complex seizures were strong, bringing many body contractions, I used one rescue spray, which interrupted well my seizures, reducing the contractions and the body pain caused by them. Unfortunately, at the time I had my tonic-clonic seizure, I was not aware of such medication.
You mentioned that your son is being treated by a neurologist. Based on my own experience, I would recommend an epileptologist instead. For me, it has made a big difference. The neurologists I went to treated me just according to the standard procedures of temporal lobe epilepsy, not considering my particularities. Just to mention something quite simple, I am a "mignon" type of person, not tolerating well standard dosages of any medication, but the neurologists I went to did not consider that.
I have been more and more keen on integrative medicine doctors that see us as whole, and not just one part of our bodies. This week I have been to a functional nutritionist and like it very much. For example, she has pointed out that some complexes of my Vitamin B are not high enough for someone with a neurological disorder. They should be in a gold standard as it is known that Vitamin B complexes are a neural protector (today they are in acceptable range level). Soon, I intend to switch from my traditional GP to an integrative medicine GP. If you enjoy reading, I highly recommend the book "Brave New Medicine" by Dr. Cynthia Li, a previous traditional doctor who became an integrative medicine doctor through her own health issues in life.
Take care!
