Bilateral hip replacements 2011/2012
PCa diagnosis (dx) July 2022
Surgery Aug 2022
Biochemical recurrence (BCR). 20 - 30% BCR rate of recurrence.
Salvage radiation & 4 mos ADT Feb - June 2023
1st post tx PSA not detectable

MRI and 2 PSMA PET scans all noted "artifacts" from hip replacements.

1st mapping for salvage radiation "failed" because of hip replacement interference w/ safe radiation delivery

2d mapping using rectal balloon successful

So my experience was yes, the hip replacements were a factor in dx and treatment (tx), but not an obstacle
