New to neuropathy without pain
Looking for some help. I had a lumbar fusion and now 7 months later i developed numbness from my knees down to the bottoms of my feet with balance issues. Neurosurgeon shows no cause from the surgery or other areas by looking at MRI's. I also have balance issues and can't walk well. Looking for some feedback and experience from others. I have a neurology appointment for EMG soon. But i have to tell you i am very frustrated and I am lost for treatment.

Research papers I've read indicate b6 toxicity symptoms may continue or even worsen some months after stopping the supplements. Also were you take the "bad" b6 in months or years prior to your symptoms starting? Did you symptoms come on gradually? Mine did. I took EmergC (10mg b6) for several years and symptoms were very minor then progressed much faster after i started the melatonin (20mg)
It's hard to say. I got my PN diagnosis in August 2022, but for years, often on the advice of doctors, I've used various supplements, a multivitamin chief among them. I can report that I've had balance "issues" going back years, maybe as many as ten, but they were brief episodes, not especially serious (or so I thought), and short-lived. Were these episodes caused by the B6 in the supplements? Were they early signs of PN? A mix of both? I wish I could say.
"Once I get into a stride I forget about the discomfort but initially I'm very tentative in my steps."
That sounds so familiar! My "iffiness" is at its most bothersome after I've been sitting for a while, and "a while" can be a mere 15 minutes. I'm especially aware of my odd way of walking (John Clease, are you listening?) when I've been sitting in a doctor's waiting room and called by the nurse: my getting up and crossing the waiting room can be downright funny … if only it were funny!
Yep!
