Ativan tolerance

@riverpark

I have been taking lorazepam for 7 years from 1 mg/day to 2/day down to .5/day last couple years. I got sick of it, especially when I took more occasionally and ran out early before refills. A couple weeks ago I just stopped in disgust with myself and now am surprised at how everything in my life has improved. Less anxiety, fewer palpations, more energy and endurance with aerobic exercise, and far better sleep. I am 77 years old. I hope I’m not in some manic state that will end soon, but I haven’t felt this well in years so will not go back to that awful drug no matter what. Sometimes no meds is the best medicine, I think.

That is wonderful. I need off this too. Have been taking .5 mg of Ativan for 5 years. I know I have developed a tolerance for it.
My main issue is not sleeping.
Wonder what the worse thing would happen if I just quit cold turkey?
