You know now. Benzos will turn on you and become
your worst nightmare. A journey of one thousand

Absolutely this!!! Pay attention people. Your benzo, especially if taken daily, will stop working for you sooner or later. You’ll be thrown into withdrawal, the nightmare begins and you won’t wake up for a very, very long time. Please taper while you’re still in control of the situation.

I was on benzos for 25 years, I took them as prescribed for sleep. Two years ago my primary doctor retired I had no one to continue my medication for me. I went to see a physiatrist in hoping she would help me. I was told in the state I lived Drs were not able to prescribe them anymore. She put me on a taper for four to six weeks to get off of them. I was unaware of the terror and hell I was about to go through. For a month or so I thought I was fine, then one day I had the most terrifying experience I’ve never had before. I had panic attacks that lasted days then a seizure in the middle of the night. I never had a history of either of those. I went back to the doctor and was told it was impossible to have withdrawal symptoms because they were out of my body. It’s been two years now. Iam suffering every single day. This has left me with disabling symptoms not being able to function or to do the smallest daily tasks. I do believe our nervous system can heal, but it can take years for some of us. Much more research and awareness needs to be done. Whatever you do NEVER fast taper any type of physic drugs. Extremely dangerous. The Dr was so wrong putting me on a 6 week taper when it should of been 18 to 2 years. I was doing fine on them, never wanted to stop them. Once you are in protracted withdrawals there is nothing anyone can do to help. Get a good support system. People that have been or going through this. I don’t mean to scare anyone just being truthful. Please bring awareness about the dangers of benzodiazepines.
