Pinching pain post hemicolectomy
I had an emergency right hemicolectomy on December 7th due to a cecal volvulus. My recovery was going well until last Sunday, my son and I were lying outside in the sun, laughing hysterically about something, and when I started to sit up from my supine position, I felt a tug/pulling sensation behind my midline incision. Since then I’ve been experiencing a pinching pain (the best way I can describe it is like a stationary gas bubble) in my right upper abdomen every time I bed over, straighten from a bent position, or push/pull something with my right arm. I called the surgeon’s office and the nurse called back and said I’m “probably fine, I might have pulled something.” This doesn’t feel like a pulled muscle though, it’s too sharp. Anyone else who’s had an hemicolectomy experience this 7-8 weeks post-op?

I’d say take it easy and if it doesn’t improve, call the doc Back and ask if there is anything you could have possibly done to impair the surgical Correction.
