You know now. Benzos will turn on you and become
your worst nightmare. A journey of one thousand
miles begins with a single step.

I’ve been on a benzo for 10 years and nothing negative came from using it. Without it, I’d have a horrible time with quality of life issues.
If a benzo is helping you , why quit or try to cut down?
My psychiatrist recommended them and I’ve nothing negative to complain about. Except one time I spent 2 months in a hospital and they had my older med list that they used because they lost the updated list I brought with me in the emergency room.

I was not on klonopin at the time so they wouldn’t give them to me. One adavan every 24 hours didn’t do it. I was fit to be tied and followed the med administrator for my adavan. (A useless benzo at a low dose.

I suffered for 2 months when I finally got discharged I went straight to the klonopin at home and within an hour I was myself again. Why should I suffer for up to a year just to cut my benzo out.

It’s been six months and I’m not doing excellent but much better. I get half of one in the morning and one milligram at 4:00 pm. Benzodiazepines aren’t killing me but helping keep me stable day by day. Benzodiazepine is not addictive . Getting off them is. Dancerintherain is it possible that your newfound happiness is from reading the Jesus book along with benzodiazepines?

I'm glad to hear that you want to find a way to get out of benzos ... (or other drugs that can have negative side effects). But sometimes we use them because the positive trump the negative.

Going thru Clevelend Clinic (Mayo must have something similar) one can find one main reason
is ANXIETY and a few other ... and among the side effects that it can be (for some) Habit Forming.
But whatever the reason YOU are taking it for, have you not looked into your life choices where you might make a just a little healthier change to overcome the issue behind your benzo use?

In my 80 years I only have occasionally used standard pills like Aspirin. No tests, surgeries, few pains and even doctor visits are rare, my last one maybe ten years ago. I sleep soundly refreshingly 8 hrs, am physically active each day (actually every 2 hrs or so) try working thru my stresses with reflective thinking and remind myself that life is fragile but also full of simple pleasures to help us ALL have a on-balance a 'good life.' (Yes I'd three ups and downs, more down years tho in my life)

So, let's start with with general healthy life style; wholesome food, physically challenging and Enjoyable activities ... and doing our own CBT (I did mine when I'd an anxiety attack for one day) Let's hear your Next step.

My motto after years of research: More (simple) Pleasures equal Less Problems!
