Hello!

I have just requested a meeting with one of our local CDRS providers. Although I don't sense an immediate need, I am trying to do a little medium- and long-term thinking. Already, I'm aware of some loss of sensation in my feet, and I am imagining a day when I will need to learn how to use hand controls if I am going to be able to continue driving safely. Do some of you reading this thread about Driving With Numb Feet use hand controls? If so, may I ask what sort of hand controls have worked the best for you? It seems there is a variety, and when that day comes, I would like to be able to select the style of hand controls that comes most naturally to someone who has been driving for 50 years using floor pedals. Thank to all for any advice!

Ray, I don't use hand controls but what I've learned is that the dealership for your Jeep is best to give you advise. I know of someone who has the hand controls, and they had the dealership order and purchase the hand controls and that dealership also installed the hand controls. I think she paid $1,800 which included installation and some small training. Price likely depends on vehicle.
